George "G5" Finney, a native of New Orleans, LA, passed away on Sunday, September 26, 2021, at the age of 38. He was the eldest of two children born to the late Lita Finney Reese and George Reese, Sr., on August 21, 1983. George was baptized in 1994 at Pilgrim Progress Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Joshua J. Davis. He was educated in the Orleans Parish public school system and was a proud alumni of John Mc Donogh High School. George enjoyed playing in the school's band and football. He is survived by daughter, Justice Kelly, son, Skyy, Jaiden and Cedric Kelly and companion, Alicia Kelly. George was deeply loved and will be truly missed by his brother, Nakia (Christy) Nakaiya Reese and Nalani Reese; aunt, Zelda (Bobby Thompson); three uncles, Joseph, Saul and Tyrone Finney , as well as a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to his mother, George was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Rosemary J. Finney and Joseph B. Finney, Sr; great grandmother, Estella Harris; two cousins, Bobby Finney and Bobby Harris; two aunts, Novella Finney and Elenora Washington. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration service honoring the life of the late Mr. George "G5" Finney at Guiding Light Missionary Baptist Church, 2012 Washington Avenue, New Orleans, LA on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 10 AM. Interment Providence Memorial Park, 8200 Airline Dr., Metairie, LA 70003. Visitation 9 Am In The Church.
