Mr. Ray Jennings Ball, age 69, of Raven, Virginia, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at his home surrounded by his loving family, following a lengthy illness.

He was born in Russell Co., VA and was the son of the late Reece and Rachel Patrick Ball both former Russell Co., natives.
He was a retired Coal Miner and had worked for Centennial Development Company. He was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith and was a lifetime resident of the area.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Nannie Clara Brown and three brothers, Burley, Junior and Jessee Ball.

Funeral services for Ray Jennings Ball will be conducted Saturday, March 15, 2008 at 2:00pm at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Larry Dye and Rev. Billy Harris officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia.

Pallbearers will be: Joshua Shelton, Jonathan Shelton, Ronnie Sharp, Chester Whited, Frank Miller, David Newberry, Greg Dye, and Wayne Miller. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Ronnie Hess, Randy Miller, Bobby Miller, Harold Gross, and Jeff Miller.
