He was born on Friday, January 27, 1961 at 4:15 p.m. in Mercedes, Texas. He worked in the refineries and oil-field and enjoyed the outdoors. He spent most of his free time at our cousins and family ranches, but was a beach bum at heart. He was such a joy to talk to and laugh with, always complimenting and uplifting with his words and smile. His signature was Mr. Wonderful, Your favorite brother, or Your favorite uncle. His words to the family: I love you, I love each and everyone of you.
He is preceded in death by his parents Rafael C. Martinez, Teresa G. Ruiz (Julian), brother Ralph Martinez Jr, nephew Justin Martinez.
He leaves behind to cherish the good memories his son Robert Lee Martinez (Bobby), love of his life Cheli Bargo (ex-wife), brothers Hector Martinez (Cheryl), Ruben Martinez (Patricia), sister Melinda Martinez Kraeer (David), uncle to Hector Jr, Tony, Adam, Jacob, Alitzah, and Marcus Martinez, Godfather and uncle to Teresa, Rachel, and David Kraeer, and great uncle to 12 nieces and nephews. He will be truly missed. May he rest in peace.
