Donald Walter Case
November 25, 1937 - June 19, 2022

Donald Walter Case, age 84 of Newark, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2022.

Born November 25, 1937, at home near Glasgow, DE to James K. and Mary Elizabeth Ann (Scott) Case, Donald was raised on a farm and spent his school years helping milk cows, plant fields, and harvest crops in his free time. Donald graduated from Middletown High School in 1955. Shortly after graduation, Donald met the love of his life, Margret Powell at the New Castle Farmers market. They were married on April 3, 1965. They were married for fifty-five years.

Donald worked various jobs before becoming an employee of the Chrysler plant in Newark, Delaware, where he worked for thirty years before retirement.

Donald's main hobby was gardening (a love he developed as a boy working his family farm). Every year, he and Margret planted a huge garden and enjoyed sharing the produce with neighbors, family, and friends. Donald lived in Delaware his entire life and knew every road in the state, along many of which he spent hours picking up cans to take to recycling centers. He enjoyed drives to lower Delaware. He and Margret enjoyed the Delaware State Fair every year.

Donald supported many charitable organizations including his service as a delivery driver for Meals on Wheels as well as various financial contributions. He was a current member of Fair Hill Church under Pastor Steve Coward.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Margret, brother, Roland; sisters, Louise Thomas, Donna Welch, Jayne Case, and a niece, Terri (Stringer) McMullen.

He is survived by his brother, James; sisters, Paula Spence, Arlene Stringer, and Alice Green (Larry); brother-in-law Wayne Welch as well many nieces and nephews.
