Charlie was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved the Lord and spread the Word through his and his wife's missionary work in Mexico and interim preaching at First Baptist Soldotna and Mt. Redoubt Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, coaching and playing sports, painting, drawing, flying, and playing games with his family.
Charlie homesteaded in Soldotna with his parents and two younger sisters. He played basketball at the University of Alaska Fairbanks where he received his degree in Secondary Education. He retired from the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District after teaching physical education at Soldotna Junior High and Redoubt Elementary for over 20 years. He continued his love for education, working as a substitute teacher until his passing. He shared his love for basketball by coaching at Soldotna Junior High, for Boys and Girls Clubs, and for his granddaughters' teams.
Charlie is survived by his wife Mary 'Marybeth' Jackson, his children Trista Clark and Ryan Jackson, his grandchildren Sydney and Savannah Clark, his sister's, and brother's-in-law Sylvia 'Sue' and Bob Wortham, Priscilla 'Prissy' and Clinton Mott, and nephews and nieces, Ray Henrichs, Leslie 'Les' and Julia Henrichs, Shane Wortham, Carrie Murray. Charlie is preceded in death by his parents, Edgar 'Jack' and Julia 'Alice' Jackson, his nephews Devin Wortham and Rance Wortham.
A memorial service will be held for Charlie and his wife, Marybeth on Saturday, June 25, 2022, at 3:00pm at College Heights Baptist Church, 44440 Kalifornsky Beach Road, Soldotna, Alaska.
