Professional Football Player. Born Brigman Owens, he was a safety for the Dallas Cowboys (1965), during the offseason and or on the practice squad only and played full time for the Washington Redskins (1966 to 1977). He was selected by the Cowboys in the 7th round of the 1965 NFL draft out of the University of Cincinnati. He played quarterback in high school at Fullerton Union High School. After high school he attended Fullerton Junior College where he also played quarterback and led them to their first bowl game, the 1961 Orange Bowl. In 1963 he transferred to the University of Cincinnati where he set numerous school records before being draft by the Dallas Cowboys. He was inducted into the University of Cincinnati Athletics Hall of Fame in 1979, the Orange County Sports Hall of Fame in 1982 and the Fullerton College Athletics Hall of Fame in 2005. In his professional career he played in 158 games made 36 interceptions and scored 5 touchdowns. After the NFL, he returned to school and finished law school and went to work with the National Football League Players Association, serving as the assistant executive director. He also owned his own business, a commercial real estate development company.
