Born April 4, 1936 in Monroe, Dale was the son of Howard and Lucille (Koster) Maurer.
A graduate of Monroe Catholic Central, Dale also graduated from Corporate Training, leadership and cost reduction programs. He was as graduate of RETS in Toledo, and also completed a Radio Course at Monroe Vocational School.
Dale was Vice President of Quality Control at Karmazin in Wyandotte. He later would be employed as a Plant Manager for Horizon Company and Lifetime Foam. He also worked for Pineknoll Convalescent Center and Frenchtown Convalescent Home.
Dale was reserved, non-complaining and a kind gentle person. A meticulous carpenter he was also an excellent mechanic. Dale will be remembered as a loving, devoted family man. He will be missed by his family and friends.
Dale is survived by Carrie, his loving wife of the past 37 years; children: Julie Jacobs, Bob Prater and Raynett Metz; a sister June Maurer; grandchildren: Michael Jacobs, Jennifer Jacobs, Kristin Jacobs, Joseph Swartwood and Alexis Bastien as well as his great-grandchildren: Olivia Jocobs, Dakota Baker, Christopher Swartwood and Noah Swartwood. Sadly he was preceded in death by his parents; a brother David Maurer and two sisters: Emma Hedrick and Lois Stotz.
In accordance with Dale's wishes, cremation is taking place under the direction of the Allore Chapel-Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 203 E. Elm Ave. A celebration of his life will be Wednesday. Friends may gather at the funeral home from 1 pm until 3 pm for a time of Sharing and Remembrance.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a memorial contribution in honor of Dale are asked to consider ProMedica Hospice of Monroe.
