PAUL'S OBITUARY
A Time to be Born...
Brother Paul Godfrey Bennett was born on March 28, 1963 to Rupert Bennett, Sr. and Louise Jefferson Bennett.

A Time to Live...
Brother Bennett confessed Christ at an early age under the leadership of his uncle, the now-late Elder Carl Bennett, Sr. and joined Mt. Horeb Primitive Baptist Church. He sang in the youth choir and as a young adult served as Sunday School Superintendent. He attended the public schools in Leon County, graduating from Lincoln High School, going on to receive his Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from Florida State University.
In addition to his academic pursuits at Florida State, Paul held various leadership positions at his beloved alma mater - including membership on the student council. True to the Blue and White, he diligently rendered service as member and past president of Phi Beta Sigma, Mu Epsilon Chapter.
On December 30, 1989, he married the love of his life, Ms. Sabrina Eaton. Three children were born to that union - Brooke Danielle (the apple of his eye), Tristan Paul (the pride of his heart) and Trace J. Nathaniel (the one who bore his strength). To his children, he gave the gift of understanding and belief in who they were and who they could become.
Upon moving to Irving, Texas, Paul began his career in software engineering for Sprint, where he was instrumental in founding the S.E.E.D (Sprint Employees Embracing Diversity) program. For this work he was honored with a key to the City of Irving. His most recent employment was with Fidelity Investments in Westlake, Texas.
Paul continued to grow in faith at One Community Church under the leadership of Dr. Conway Edwards. On occasion he volunteered for the Annual Shakespeare Festival in Dallas. He had an unwavering passion for Seminole football; never missing a televised game. He also enjoyed exploring his newly acquired culinary skills and broadening his appreciation for new and diverse foods. A strong advocate for social justice, he was never one to shy away from a strong intellectual discourse.

A Time to Die....
Brother Paul passed from this life into the presence of the Lord, with his wife and family by his side, on Saturday, August 30, 2020 at Medical City Las Colinas in Irving Texas.
