Adam Jackson Bennett, Sr. was married to Mary Jane Elizabeth Harvey on 1 Aug 1839. Three years later in 1842, they both fled to Sabine County, Texas. They are both buried at the Bennett Cemetery next to the Bennett Homestead. To get there, travel 7.1 miles north of Milam, Texas on Hwy 87. Turn East on Reeves Road and go 3.5 miles until the road "T's" and take a right. At the 0.6 mile mark, take a right fork and continue 1.0 mile and you will see the Bennett Cemetery Sign on the right. Take the road to the right and when you get to a fork, take a left and go straight on to the cemetery. Close to 50 graves in this family cemetery.
