John P. " Jackie" Lynch III, 87, of Wallingford, longtime New Haven and Hamden resident, passed away Sunday, June 19,2022 after a long battle with dementia. He was born Feb. 21, 1935, in New Haven a son of the late John P. and Elizabeth Higgins Lynch II, was a graduate of Wilbur Cross High School, class of 1953 and had been employed for many years at the CT Dept. of Motor Vehicles, first as a toll collector and then as an office worker. John had a great love of music and sang with the Choir at St. Joseph's Church for many years and was a member of the University Men's Glee Club of New Haven for over fifty years. He also enjoyed the theater. John is survived by nephews and a niece, Robert (Pam) Zimmermann, David Zimmermann, Paul (Linda) Zimmermann and Ann Johnson, and cousin Joan Warner along with many other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by a sister and brother in law, Elizabeth "Betsy" and Bob Zimmermann, a nephew Christopher Zimmermann and loving cousins who were like brothers and sisters to him, Ann Callahan, Francis(Charlotte)Bowen, Clare Sisk and Tom Higgins.

Funeral from Sisk Brothers Funeral Home, 3105 Whitney Ave., Hamden, Friday morning at 9:30. Mass of Christian Burial in St., Joseph's Church, Edwards St. New Haven at 10:00. Burial will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven. Calling hours will be Friday morning prior to the Funeral Mass from 8:00-9:30. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Assoc., 200 Executive Blvd., Southington, CT
