On June 17, 2022, Katherine Boan Christensen Bielby went to be with Heavenly Father.

Katherine was born in Grey's Lake, ID to Henry Wilson Boan and Lillian May Taylor on the 4th of July 1928. She was raised by her father, who moved to a ranch in Vernal, UT, there is where she met her friend Gloria Sweet. They were born on the same day and remand lifelong friends.

At the age of 12, she went to live with Laura Whitmer, who was the only mother she knew. After Graduating from Vernal high school, she met Rex L. Christensen on a bus ride back to college. They were married June 29, 1949.

She worked as a telephone operator on the BYU camps to put Rex through college. They welcomed four children to their marriage, Cara, Jody H., Cinda, and Cheri. Rex worked for the Bureau of Land Management in St George and Salmon. Katherine went back to college and got her associate degree at Dixie College in St George UT. They moved to Salmon, ID in 1969 and she was a substitute teacher. She opened a private kindergarten. She taught children to read for 25 years. She loved all children. They were the joy of her life.

After Rex's retirement, she opened a quilting business. She made beautify quilts. They went fishing and traveling. She loved all animals but especially horses. She had a gift for healing sick animals and was always tending to the tender ones.

In 1994 Rex passed away after 48 Years of marriage. She then married Hubert Steve Bielby, who she shared 21 years with. They enjoined watching Grandchildren, spoiling them, and spending time with their families.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter day Saints. She held many positions in the church. Steve and Katherine had the privilege to serve a Stake mission in Salmon. They served and taught the gospel to many people. They loved their mission.

Steve passed away in 2016 but she had lots of love and support from family and friends. She was loved by everyone that knew her. She had a sweet, happy, caring countenance. She loved to dance, sing and making up rhymes. She was very creative and artistic. She had many friends and will be missed by many people.

She is survived by her three daughters, Cara (Chad) Wilkins, Cinda (Rick) Haderlie, Cheri (Gary) Williams. She had 12 Grandchildren, Kenyon Wilkins, Julie Hamner, Christy Elliot, Lisa Centonio, Ryan Wilkins, Lena Haderlie, Lynn Elbert, Cody Haderlie, Christina Noall, Michelle Savage, Julia Whittacre, and Ariana Williams and 28 Great Grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her infant son, Jody H. Christensen, Rex L. Christensen, and Hubert Steve Bielby.

Her services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ and Latter day Saints Stake Center, 400 S Daisy Street in Salmon, ID on Saturday, June 25, 2022 with viewing at 10:00 AM in the Relief Society room. Services beginning at 11:00 AM in the chapel. Interment at the Salmon cemetery.
