Martha Kiesz, 90, of Fresno and formerly of Lodi, died July 15 in Fresno. She was born Martha Dollinger on Oct. 5, 1909 in Tolstoy, S.D. Mrs. Kiesz married Arthur Kiesz on Aug 22, 1929 in Bowdle, S.D. She moved to Lodi in 1973 and to Fresno in 1998. She served with her husband in the ministry for the Seventh-day Adventist Church for more than 50 years before retiring in 1973. She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church Fairmont's Dorcas Society. She enjoyed her grandchildren, embroidering, knitting, crocheting, quilting, baking apple pies and playing the piano for the church
She is survived by her sons, ReDoy Kiesz of Washington, Leslie L. Kiesz, M.D. of Fresno, and Larry J. Kiesz of Oregon; one sister, Katie Bitzer of Lodi; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elder Arthur Kiesz; sisters, Ella Anderso, Emma Kureger, Christine Cramer, Maggie Loewen, Lydia Duerksen, Marie Lorenze and Rose Kiesz; and brothers, Elder J.S. Dollinger, Gottlieb Dollinger and Andrew Barling.
