Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until 10:00am on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs, which is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Hazel was a native of Jasper County who was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Favorite past times were cooking for her family, especially her homemade biscuits. As echoed by her family her home was always filled with laughter and good smells from the kitchen. And on annual celebration days in the family, known as birthdays, everyone got a personalized "happy birthday baby song" just for them, from Mamaw, a memory that each one will cherish for years to come. Mrs. Hazel was a Baptist by faith, often making time for daily Bible readings, and talks with Jesus.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands: Riley Walker and Raymond H. Clingon; three sons: Billy T. Walker and Riley Gerald Walker and Bobby E. Walker; her father: Alonzo Jones; her mother: Lois Scott Jones; and two brothers: J.C. Jones (Mazie), and Obie Jones.
She is survived by her two sons, Darrell Walker (Judy) of Waynesboro, and Stevie R. Walker (Ann) of Mt. Olive; one daughter-in-law: Vederia Walker of Pelahatchie; eight grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother: Rev. Charles Jones (Gilda); one special nephew: Robert Jones; several other nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Adam Walker, Brendan Sartin, Tucker McLain, Cole Walker, Gavin Pitts, Noah Barndt, Landry Dyess, and Brannon Dyess. Honorary pallbearers will be Noah Barndt and Walker Sartin.
