Ronald V. Liss, 83, of Woodridge, and formerly of Spring Valley, passed away June 13, 2022 at Edwards Hospital, Naperville, IL.
Cremation has been accorded. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, June 23, at Valley Memorial Park Cemetery in Spring Valley. Deacon John Murphy will officiate. The Barto Funeral Home, Spring Valley, is honored to assist the family at this time.
Mr. Liss was born in Chicago, IL on February 10, 1939, to Edward and Marie (Ossowski) Liss. He married Antoinette Marchetti, his wife of 63 years, on December 3, 1958.
Mr. Liss worked many years at Western Sand & Gravel and retired after working as a custodian at Hall High School, Spring Valley. He was a member of the Nativity of Our Lord Parish in Spring Valley.
He lived most of his life in Spring Valley, IL but was able to live his dream after retirement in The Villages, FL for 10 years. The last 10 years he came back to Illinois to be close to his family. Mr. Liss was an avid NASCAR fan going to races as early as 1972. He also loved the Miami Dolphins. He loved his cars and trucks and enjoyed working hard keeping them immaculate. He was particularly proud of his 1959 Chevy pickup truck, which he enjoyed taking to car shows. He touched many lives and was always there when needed. Most of all he enjoyed his time with his wife, they were never apart.
Ronald is survived by his wife Antoinette "Chickie" Marchetti Liss of Woodridge; one son Ronald C. (Sheila O.) Liss of Lisle, IL; and his grandchildren Ryan Liss, Connor Liss, and Kelsey Liss.
He was preceeded in death by his parents, Edward and Marie Liss.
