Charles Curtis Sanders, passed away on Thursday, June 9th, 2022, at the age of 66.

Beloved son of the late Charles E. Sanders and Barbara Duplechin Sanders.

He is survived by his two daughters, Danielle Sanders Sciambra and Jeanne Sanders Dakin (Troy).

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Kathy J. Sanders.

Charlie is survived by siblings: David H. Sanders (Angele), Eve S. Kazik and Eric M. Sanders; grandchildren: Mason, Taylor, Austin, Savannah, Alexandra and Ava; He was an uncle to Jennifer, Jessica, Anna, Christian, Abby and Jared. He is also survived by many great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his former wife and mother of his children, Tammy Patingo.

Charlie was a graduate of Chalmette High School and a former employee of Halter Marine, Kaiser Aluminum, and the Hotel Monteleone. He was a skilled carpenter and an avid fisherman, enjoying many successful trips with family and friends, but most often with his dad. If the fish were biting slowly and other conditions were right, it was not uncommon to hear the splash of Charlie diving off the boat and searching underwater for an oyster bed to test out a few. He loved raw oysters and just about any kind of seafood. He loved watching Saints games, listening to local talk radio and reading the newspaper front to back.

He will be missed for his easy-going personality, sense of humor, and always appreciative demeanor, especially during his final years.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Dr., Metairie, LA 70001 on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 from 10:00 AM – Noon, followed by a Memorial Service at Noon. Burial will be private.
