He was born February 7, 1945 in Charleston, son of the late Dessie and Hazel Starcher King. He was also preceded in death by sisters Carol Workman, Betty Hager and Thelma Harris. Paul was reborn on April 4, 2003 at a little church by the side of the road on Rt. 34.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Deanna Stone King; son Todd (August) King; daughter Amanda (Steve) Shaffer; grandchildren Ethan (Lisa) King, Daryn (Wade) Myers Reagan (Stephen) Gainey, Evan King, Avery, Quentin, Callie and Griffin Shaffer; great granddaughter Clarke Myers; sister Phyllis (Bob) Cline; brothers-in-law Joe (Erika) Bonnett and Harry Harris; also survived by three nieces, three nephews and special friend and cousin, Buster Starcher.
He was a member of the Hickory Grove Church and Masonic Lodge #16 AF & AM in Ripley and retired from the Laborers Union #1354.
In honoring his wishes the funeral service will be private at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, with his son, Pastor Todd King officiating. Burial with Masonic Rites will be in the in the Emma Chapel Cemetery, Liberty.
