IMMIGRANT MARTIN DASSANCE I
In 1743, at the age of 17, Martin Dassance I was seized by a British press gang and brought to the house of Ephraim Leonard of Norton, Massachusetts. While at Norton, Martin met and married Phebe Dorman (a Mayflower descendant), and after the birth of four of his children (Abt. 1756), he removed to Keene, New Hampshire. Also, in 1756, he was a member of Corporal Joseph Hodges Company in the expedition against Crown Point (Seven Years War).
