Father of entertainer Lena Horne, Edwin F. Horne, died Saturday in Los Angeles at the age of 78. Mr. Horne was formerly a hotel and restaurant owner. Surviving, besides Miss Horne, who is the wife of Lennie Hayton, composer, arranger and conductor, are two sons, Dr. Frank S. Horne of the New York City Housing and Development Administration, and John B. Horne; two grandchildren and five great‐grandchildren.
