CLYDE WILSON OBITUARY
October 17, 1933 – May 25, 2022 Age 88, of Woodbury, MN Clyde Ernest Wilson passed away peacefully on May 25, 2022. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service for immediate and extended family will be held Friday, August 26th at 10:00am at Wulff Woodbury Funeral Home, 2195 Woodlane Dr, Woodbury, MN. Interment of Ashes will take place at Fort Snelling at 1:30 pm that same afternoon. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to The Parkinson's Foundation or Hospice. Clyde was born on October 17, 1933 in Kimball, SD to Elmer and Maybelle Wilson. Clyde and his twin brother Clarke were the oldest of 5 siblings including sisters Carolyn, Connie and Katie. Clyde served four years in the United States Air Force and then attended the University of SD, Vermillion where he graduated with a Degree in Accounting. After passing the CPA exam, Clyde had a successful career as a Public Accountant and as a Partner with big 8 firms in MN. On September 24, 1960, Clyde married LaVina (Peer) Wilson from Artesian, SD and they were happily married for 62 years raising 3 children. Clyde was very proud of his children and their spouses: Jodi (Scott) Rassett of NC, John (Jennie) Wilson of CO and Julie (Jerry) Hagen of MN. Clyde was a loving grandfather to 10 grandchildren: Stephanie, Kaitlin, Alexander, Spencer, Katherine, Joseph, Heather, Jacob, Mollie and Samuel. Clyde was also blessed with 7 great-grandchildren: Sutton, Skylar, Summer, Sharlotte, Kaden, Hunter and Walker. Clyde was a hard worker and was fortunate to retire at the age of 57 years old. Clyde and LaVina were able to flee the cold winters of MN and resided many years in Stuart, FL where they were avid golfers. Clyde was as lucky on the golf course, as he was in life, and sank 10 holes in one during his golfing years. Clyde and LaVina were also seasoned travelers with many amazing cruises and trips all around the World. They also loved playing cards with family and friends and could be found at parties and weddings as regulars on the dance floor. After many happy years in FL, they returned home to MN to be closer to family. His family would like Clyde to be remembered as a kind, generous, hardworking, and loving man who provided his family with a wonderful life and many happy memories. We were all blessed to call him our Husband/Dad/Grandfather or Great-Grandfather (whichever applied). Clyde fought a tough fight against Parkinson's Disease for over 20 years but his love for the Lord and Faith always remained strong. "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the Faith" 2 Timothy 4:7. We know he is rejoicing in Heaven with his parents, Elmer and Maybelle, brother, Clarke, and his sisters Carolyn and Katie, who preceded him in death. What a beautiful reunion that must be. Rest in Peace Clyde, we miss and love you! WULFF 651-738-9615 WulffWoodburyFuneralHome.com
