Garry retired from Hinton Trucking after working for 15 years as a truck driver. He previously drove for Mike Martin and Jack Bryant and worked for Dale Johnson on his farm. Mr. Smith was a former member of Turkey Creek Baptist Church. He loved to spend his spare time fishing and watching Lonesome Dove, Tombstone, and Yellowstone. He was a very hard worker and he rarely missed a day of work, but he also loved to take goofy pictures and cut up. "Slick" was a family oriented man who was always there when his family needed him and loved spending time with his children.
Garry Wayne "Slick" Smith departed this life on June 17, 2022 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 62 years, 5 months, and 4 days.
He is survived by his wife, Kelly Mae Smith of Savannah, Tennessee; sons, Terry Smith, Michael Smith and his wife Jamie, Glen Smith, Joey Smith, and Ethan Smith; daughter, Hadley Smith; sisters, Wanda Franks, Barbara Shubert, and Becky Lambert; brother, Arthur Smith; grandchildren, Haley Scott, Jason Smith, Steven Smith, Tanner Smith, Casey Smith, Dallas Smith, Jathan Smith, Adriyana Smith, and Brenley Smith; and great grandchildren, Logan Davis, Josie Plunkett, Madalynn Scott, and Isabella Scott.
In addition to his parents, Garry was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Lou Franks and Betty Jane O'Daniel; brother, Alvin Smith; and granddaughter, Chasity Brooke Smith.
