Herbert was the son of Katherine March Fisher. He served in the U. S. Army for 20 years and retired with his Honorable Discharge. He lived in the state of Washington for several years and owned several businesses there. He later relocated to Columbus, Georgia. He was an avid outdoorsman and was an honorary lifetime member of the Brown Hunting Club. He enjoyed fishing and hunting most. He was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church in Columbus, Georgia where he was Ordained a Deacon.
He was married to Anna Cochran Fisher. He was preceded in death by 2 sons, Levy Lewis and James Lynn.

1 Daughter-In-Law: Jean Lynn.
3 Grandchildren: Tony Ware(Renee), Joyce Thorn and Deborah Lynn.
3 Great Grandchildren: Becky Thorn, Kennedy Ware and Tony Ware II.
Services were held Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at 11AM in the Sanctuary of Liberty Hill Baptist Church in Columbus, Georgia.
