Georgia Evelyn Maxson, 89, of Loveland, CO, passed away peacefully June 12, 2014 with family by her side.

Georgia was born August 9, 1924 in Ingalls, KS to Charles E. and Nancy J. Evinger. She married Harold H. Maxson on September 5, 1943 in Carthage, MO. He preceded her in death on May 2, 2001.

Georgia was primarily a homemaker raising her four children. After her children were grown, Georgia held several jobs. She worked for Pikes Peak Manor in Colorado Springs, CO. Later she worked for Furrs Cafeteria in Longmont, CO.

She moved to Loveland, CO, in 1969 due to her husband's change of employment. It is in Loveland where her grandchildren have their fondest memories of their grandmother; turtle pancakes, the smell of sheets dried outside, and the wonderful food she prepared are among several memories. She liked to sew, bake, read and spend time in the mountains of Colorado.

She is survived by her children: Nancy Rorabaugh and husband Tom of Casper, WY; George Maxson and wife Peggy of Berthoud, CO; Barbara Griep and husband Stan of Loveland, CO; Anita Carner and husband Pete of Fort Collins, CO; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 3 sisters.

Private family services will be conducted. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Pathways Hospice in care of Resthaven Funeral Home, 8426 S Hwy 287, Fort Collins, CO 80525.--Resthaven Memory Gardens Funeral & Cremation
