Ralph Fulton Clark, 87, of Hickory, passed away Thursday, Jan. 28, 2021, at Catawba Valley Medical Center.

Born July 24, 1933, in Summers County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Albert Ross Clark Sr. and Emma Ruth Harvey Clark. Through Ralph's life of active, humble Christian service, he was ordained as a deacon, served as a Royal Ambassador Director and teacher of many Sunday school and Bible Studies. While in Hickory he was an active member of First Baptist Church, teaching the Paul Powers Men's Sunday school class. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force where he served in the Korean War and retired as a communications engineer with General Telephone Electronics.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Albert Ross Clark Jr., the Rev. John Harvey Clark and Thomas Nathan Clark; and sisters, Frances Clark Horst, Mary Helen Clark and Geraldine C. Beshears.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 67 years, Jane Robertson Clark; son, Jeff Clark (Karen) of Raleigh; daughters, Deborah Clark and fiancé, Richard Dunst of Gastonia, Patti Belcher (Roland) of Bastian, Va., and Lori Clark of Charlotte; grandchildren, Audrey Driskill, Vanessa Stokes, Russell Clark, Johnathan Belcher and Bradley Belcher; and great-grandchildren, Anderson Driskill, Nathaniel Driskill, Austin Belcher, Leah Belcher and Julianne Clark.

A private graveside service will be held and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Catawba Emergency Medical Services, Dr. Scott Sledge along with the medical 5th floor staff at Catawba Valley Medical Center and Dr. Michael DeSantis along with the staff at the DeSantis Family practice of Hickory.
