Jess was the first Referee-in-Chief for Six Nations Minor Lacrosse & he also pioneered the first Six Nations girls' box lacrosse team in the late 70s and early 80s.

Predeceased by Tom, Bob, Dick, Kenny and Freeman, sisters Wilma, Minnow & Brenda.
