A US Army veteran, Mr. Evans was retired from Boyce Ranson Ford and also worked at Pierce Motor Company and was the owner of Evans Rental Properties. He a 1956 graduate of Spartanburg High School and attended USC-Columbia. He was a lifelong member of Southside Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Catherine Osborne Evans and son, Spencer Evans of Spartanburg, SC, his sister, Betty Thomas, niece, Carol Sherman and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 9:30 to 10:30 am Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. A Funeral service will be 11:00 am in the chapel, conducted by The Rev. Bobby Pierce. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
The family would like to give a very special thank you to his caretaker, Mattie Griffin that had a special love for Bill and to the staff at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home and Comfort Keepers.
