Funeral services for Jack Sonberg were held Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004 at
the Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Rev. Dennis Niezwaag
officiated. Burial was in the Osage Cemetery, Osage, Iowa. Jack died
Saturday, Feb. 7, 2004 at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital in Charles
City, Iowa, following a lengthy illness.

Donald Lavern Sonberg was born Feb. 24, 1930 at St. Ansgar, the son of
Henry and Louise (Everest) Sonberg. He received his education at the
Osage High School.

On July 14, 1949, he was united in marriage to Doris Wieland at the
Little Brown Church in Nashua.

They farmed near Osage until moving to the Colwell area in 1956. Jack was
a farmer at heart and ran a large dairy operations as well as raised hogs.
His favorite pastimes included craft woodworking and attending the
chuckwagon races in which many of his children were participants.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Daron Sonberg and an infant
brother.

Donald's survivors include his wife Doris of Charles City, six children,
Delores "Dee" (Bob) Onken of Osage, Darwin (Norma) Sonberg of Orchard,
Denise (Dan) Riden of Nashua, Dawn (Courtney) Thomas of Ionia, Dale
Sonberg and special friend Shawna of Charles City and Dennis (Lisa)
Sonberg of Charles City, 12 grandchildren, a great-granddaughter and
two sisters Betty (Gene) Clark of Orchard and Sheryl (Bob) Nassif of
Rochester, Minnesota.

Hauser Funeral Home, Charles City was in charge of arrangements.
