Brian J. Abbott, 72, of Laurie Lane in Jamestown, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2021 at UPMC Chautauqua.

He was the husband of the late Susan Weldon Abbott who died January 23, 1997.

Brian was born in Westfield, NY on September 1, 1948, the son of the late James and Marie Jones Abbott, was a graduate of Mayville High School and attended Jamestown Business College. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

He was employed by the Chautauqua Abstract Co. in Mayville for many years, retiring as assistant manager. He belonged to Mayville United Methodist Church and was a member of the William Travis Post 0493 American Legion in Mayville, Carroll Rod & Gun Club, and Mayville Volunteer Fire Department.

Brian loved time with his grandchildren, as well as his 'grand-dogs' over the years.

Surviving are three children: Lisa (Dan) Kaminski of Pittsburgh, PA, Paul (Jennifer) Abbott of Jamestown and Stephanie (Tom) Banaszak of Lancaster, NY; and nine grandchildren: Amy Gordon of Beaver Falls Colleen Rodgers of Butler, PA, James Cannon of Pittsburgh, Daniel Cannon of Butler, Shannon Wawrowski and Jessica Banaszak, both of Buffalo, Samantha Banaszak of Lancaster, and Kelsey Abbott and Hannah Abbott, both of Jamestown.

A private family memorial service will be held, led by the Rev. Mark Parsons.

Visitation will not be observed. Inurnment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
