Robert W. Hansen, 94, of Sebastopol. Beloved husband of the late Ruth Elaine. Loving father of Warren, James, Gregory, and Cynthia (Biff) Varner. Cherished grandfather of Jarrett, Jeremy (Kristine), Brandon (Natalie), and Rosemary (Trevor). Proud great grandfather of Lilah, Sage, Emma, Lacey, Amelia, Adelynn, Paisley, and Gianna. Dear brother of the late Elvina and the late Gervin and son of the late Gervin and Hilda Hansen.
Robert was born and raised in Sebastopol, a lifelong community member. For four years, he served in the Air Force stationed in Alaska. On June 2, 1951, he married Ruth at the Hamilton Air Force Base. During his service, he became an electrician working on planes in the hangars. He also worked as a "cat skinner" for then C.D.F., where he worked to prevent wildfires. Robert loved gardening and being outdoors, but he loved his family most. Nothing was more important to him than being a dedicated, hard-working family man. Throughout his life, he could be heard saying, "You need a helping hand, look at the end of your arm."
