Lanning, Maggie (Mrs Edward), 1861-1911

Word was received here of the death of Mrs. Ed Lanning, now residing in Gary South Dakota. Mrs. Lanning had been very low for a few days but seemed to be improving a little when suddenly it turned to the worst and death came at 1 o'clock Wednesday morning.
Mrs. Ed Lanning died at her home at Gary, S.D., which occurred Tuesday evening. It was reported last week that she had blood poiso in one of her fingers caused from a scratch of a rusty nail and later caused lock jaw. eek.
Mrs. Maggie Lanning was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin July 16, 1861, removed with her family to Wykoff, Minn., in 1889 and coming to Boyden two years later. She was married to Edward Lanning October 23, 1894, living 19 years in Boyden, then moving to Gary, South Dakota at which place she died July 4, 1911, of tetanus caused by a slight injury to her finger. Thanks to the science of medicine her intense suffering was lessened and she passed away peacefully. She leaves, besides her husband, one son, Clare a youth of 17 years.
