Richard Snyder passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving wife and family on June 11, 2022. He was an Air Force baby born on May 30, 1956, in Paris, France to Charles and Mary Snyder. From there he traveled to Japan and many other places. He was still able to remember how to sing "If your happy and you know it clap your hands" in Japanese.
Richard graduated from Caesar Rodney in 1974. He was known as the class clown. He loved school so much he went to summer school every year.
He was an oil delivery driver, contractor, landscaper, self-employed … a man of many hats, but what he really liked was to make people laugh. His impersonation of Donald Duck made many smile. Richard was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He loved going out dancing and his dancing technique was quite unique.
Richard is survived by his wife of 38 years, Emily Snyder; They enjoyed taking vacations together and were able to vacation in Mexico, England, Spain, and the Dominican Republic. Although they spent most of their time in Kent County to be close to family and friends. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. One of his last requests was for his family to cherish and support each other.
He is also survived by his daughters, Nicole Irwin (Mark) and Amanda Snyder; grandchildren, Joseph Irwin, Sophia Irwin, Xander Irwin, and Noah Harris; sisters, Carol (Susan) Williams, and Kathy Larkin; mother, Mary Snyder; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Preceded in death by brother, Steven Snyder; and father, Charles Snyder.
Richard was not a fashion trend setter. He enjoyed wearing his plaid shirts and camo cargo pants which usually did not match. In memory of Richard, guests are welcome to wear their Richard Snyder finest.
