Dwayne Jerod Barnes Jr, age 39 was born in New Orleans, LA. With his family by his side, he peacefully departed this life to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 1, 2022. Dwayne Jerod Barnes Jr., affectionately known as "S.D0T," was born on March 27, 1983, to the union of Dwayne Jerod Barnes Sr. and Angela Marie Hargrove Barnes in New Orleans, Louisiana.
He was the first born of two. He completed his education at Marion Abramson Science Academy High School in 2001.
Survivors include his loving wife, Tabitha Montgomery Barnes; children, one son, Dwayne Jerod Barnes III; two loving daughters, Damani Ma'laiya Barnes, Giana Imari Herrington all of New Orleans, LA; siblings, one brother, Durell Joseph Michael Barnes; one sister, Tiffany Royal; Mother-in-law, Mary Montgomery; Father-in-law, Micheal Montgomery Sr.; brother-in-law, Michael Jr. (Keyonn), Joshua (Jalisa), and sister-in-law, Kristi (Quinn); god-sister, Domicka Coleman; god-brother, Evan Barnes, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Marguerite Hargrove Honor, Dolores Milone Barnes, and Robino Joseph Barnes Jr. A Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life and legacy of the late Mr. Dwayne Jerod Barnes Jr. will be held at the Corpus Christi-Epiphany Catholic Church, 2022 St. Bernard Avenue, New Orleans, LA, 70116 on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at 10:00 AM. Visitation will begin at 8:00 am – 10:00 am. For the health and safety of all, due to the Covid 19 pandemic, everyone in attendance is asked to wear a face mask and practice social distancing.
