Jonathan Patrick Stewart, 24, of Crow Agency passed away on May 11, 2022. He was born March 3, 1998, at 11:13 am in Crow Agency to his father Jared Stewart and his mother Carla Catolster a direct descendent of Pretty Eagle, Pretty Shield, WhitemanRunsHim, Goes Ahead, Big Shoulderblade and to the Eastern Band Cherokee. Jonathan was a member of the Bad War Deeds Clan and a child of the Big Lodge Clan the Bird Clan. He was an enrolled member of Crow Nation and a member of the Black Lodge and Yellowhill Community. His Crow name Baapáaxee - Akuleé (Flag Bearer) was given to him by Newton Old Crow, Sr. He was the fourth son of Jared and Carla joining his brothers Cordell, Gabriel and Justin. When he was eight, the family was given a little boy, Baby Regis and Jonathan became a loving older brother. Recently he became a big brother to Suzie. Throughout his growing up years, many family members stayed with the family and were important part of all the boys' upbringing including Smilie and Kristine Other Medicine, Jewel Tushka, Valenna Medicine Horse, Mandy Little Light, Juanita Tushka Yellow Mule, Gina Tobacco, the late John Myron Stewart, and his wife Davey Jean Stewart and his uncle Conrad "CJ" (Tara) Stewart.
He grew up in the Crow Agency area and went to the Crow Agency Public School and Hardin Middle School. He attended St Labre Catholic School where he excelled academically. He had many friends who considered him a "bro". Jonathan was a music guy and who always put his friends on to the best new music. He was involved in the music/choir program attending music festivals in Miles City, Hardin, Colstrip and Billings. He also worked as a lifeguard at St. Labre and in Donor Relations from 2018 to 2020. Jonathan enjoyed playing video games with his group of chat buddies, listening to music, watching movies, and just hanging out with friends. He dreamed of being a video game programmer.
