Anna Marion Anderson
March 23, 1928 ~ June 8, 2022 (age 94)

Anna Marion Anderson, 94, died Wednesday, June 8, 2022 in DeLand, Florida.
Born March 23, 1928 in Pierson, Florida, Anna took her first job working on the International Speedway building project after high school, a job she was proud of.

She met her husband Frank Andy Anderson while he was in the Navy stationed at Lake George, and in 1947, they married and moved to his home of Rockford, Illinois. She worked first as a keypunch operator at an insurance office, then until her retirement as secretary for the Rockford School Board, supporting both her mother-in-law and her husband after he became ill. After Andys death in 1990, she moved to Florida.

She toured Alaska in 1994, flying over to Fairbanks to see her niece. After her Aunt Irene left her a small inheritance in 1997, she was able to travel to Italy with an Italian friend. She said that he showed her the country as no tourist would have. She also learned to bellydance!

Anna loved her family deeply, and spent time in her last years with her sisters and brothers who all lived into their nineties.

She is survived by her brother, Willard Swanson, and friends and family including niece Debra Sue Williamson and lifelong friend Louise Bolin. She was preceded in death by her husband, her sisters Mary and Verna and her brother Stanley.

A graveside service will be held at Pierson United Methodist Cemetery in Pierson, Florida, on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, where Anna will be buried beside her mother, Lula Marion Ashcraft Swanson Anderson.
