All of his grandkids called him "Big Pa".

David Wayne Bottcher, 61, of Independence, MO, died Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at University Health Truman Medical Center in Kansas City.

He was born April 17, 1961 in Kansas City, MO a son of Robert L. Bottcher and Mary Lou Vickers.

David attended St. Mary's grade school and high school. He was a 1979 graduate of Truman High School in Independence. He worked for Schwan's for 15 years and was salesman of the year several years running. He was also service manager at Westco Lube. David loved fishing, hunting, Nascar and country music. But most of all, he loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. (He also loved the KC Chiefs, the KC Royals and the Kansas Jayhawks.)

David is survived by his mother, Mary Lou Hanson, of Independence; three daughters, Jennifer C. Bottcher of Kansas City, MO, Amanda S. Bottcher of Grain Valley and Carolyn A. Bottcher (Timothy Long Sr.) of Bates City, MO; a sister, Barbara G. Ballard of Buckner, MO; and seven grandchildren, Zack, Austin, Harleon, Carly, T.J., Jayden and Jaxon.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert L. Bottcher.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Robert Sisney officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral chapel.
