He was born in Amsterdam on August 19, 1963, a son of Lewis Tyler and Barbara Crandall Tyler and was a 1983 graduate of Perth Central School.
Ken later earned an Associate's degree in Auto Mechanics from FMCC. He was a lifelong area resident.
At the time of his death, Ken was employed as a machinist at the Gund Company in Amsterdam, where he worked for the past twelve years.
Ken was a true animal lover. He had a special passion for horses as both an avid, accomplished rider and gentle caretaker. Ken also loved music. He was a talented drummer and singer who performed with several area bands. He enjoyed snowmobiling and spending time with family, friends, his dogs, kitties and horses. Ken had a fabulous sense of humor and could make anyone laugh out loud. He was always upbeat, selfless and lighthearted, a loving and caring husband, son, brother, stepdad, grandfather and great grandfather.
Survivors include his wife, Wendy Suttle Tyler, whom he married on December 31, 1988; two stepchildren, Jolee (Wesley) Yennard and Jason Baird; his mother, Barbara Muscato; his father, Lewis Tyler (Bonnie Tyler); a sister, Laurie Tyler (Lance Davi); a brother, James Tyler; a stepsister, Reenie Smith; eight grandchildren, Paul, Travis, Emma, Wyatt, Grace, Dawnie, Jade, and Eric; two great-grandchildren, Bentley and Oliver; two nephews; two brothers-in-law and their children, Jon (Susan) Rhodes and Michael Jones (and fiance Kelly Tosch); and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
