Peters – Kenneth D., 93, Richland, went to be with the Lord on June 13, 2022 at Arbutus Park Manor. Born on March 19, 1929 in Nanty Glo, son of Joseph Sr. and Cora (Fresh) Peters. Preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Ralph, Ruth Kutchman, Erma Jean Pyer, Lester, and Joseph Jr. He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Rita (Oppy) Peters; daughter, Charlotte L. (Ben) Goller, Johnstown; granddaughters, Ashley (Darren) Brown, Chambersburg, Jessica (Jeremy) Stempka, Erie, and Trista (Darren) Eades, Bridgeport, WV; great granddaughters, Rowan and Kennedy Eades, and Hannah Brown; sister, Donna Hibbard, Mineral Point; sister-in-law, Phyllis Peters, Nanty Glo; several nieces, nephews, and his buddy, Bella. Ken was a US Navy Veteran serving during the Korean War. He was employed at US Steel as a Pipe Fitter and later at Johnstown Vo-Tech as a Welding Instructor from where he retired. Ken was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, where he was an Usher for many years, and Cambria Lodge #278 F&AM. He was also a Constable for Cambria County Board of Elections for many years. Ken enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating at Raystown, and bowling. He loved his entire family, especially his grand and great granddaughters. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. on Friday at Bethany United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Adam Dotts officiating. Entombment will be at Richland Mausoleum with military rites conducted by Menoher Post #155 VFW Ritual Team. The family suggests contributions be directed to Arbutus Park Manor, Cross Roads Unit, 207 Ottawa St, Johnstown, PA 15904 or to 365 Hospice, 115 South Main St, Carrolltown, PA 15722 in memory of Ken.
