Eleanor F. Brown, 89, of Drifton passed away Sunday morning at her home.

Born in Japan Jeddo, she was the daughter of the late Gus and Julia (Rohrbach) Gustave. Prior to retiring, she was employed as a seamstress for various garment industries in Freeland and Hazleton. She lived her life devoted to the Divine Mercy Message of God's compassion for caring for those neglected.

Eleanor was a member of the Immaculate Conception Parish at St. Ann's Church, Freeland; Freeland VFW Post 5010 Ladies Auxiliary; White Haven VFW Post 6615 Ladies Auxiliary; Military Order of Cooties; and Chicken Pluckers of Freeland. She was active with the Veterans Administration in Wilkes-Barre and organized their bingo, and catered social events in the Freeland area.

Eleanor enjoyed baking and cooking, going to Atlantic City, watching birds from her patio and watching the NY Yankees as well as all TV sports.

Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband, Wilbur Brown, in 2000; brothers, Peter Moro, Bernie Moro; and sisters, Cecelia Scintilla, Mary Balog, Maggie Shiroki, and Reggie Stefanick.

Surviving are a son, David Brown, Jeddo borough; daughters, Denise Brill and husband, John, Lattimer; Dianne Kluck-Marino and husband, Joseph, Nescopeck; and a sister, Irene Soroko, Freeland. Also surviving are grandchildren, Beth Anne and husband, Brad; Andrew and wife, Mary Kate; David; Ricky and wife, Barb; and Danny and wife, Stacie; and great-grandchildren, Dominic, Tyler, and Corbin.
