She was born on December 23, 1915, in Boone, Iowa, the daughter of Carl Henry and Clara Maria (Carlson) Thorngren, immigrants from Sweden.
Her parents; sisters, Emma Pauline Pestotnik and Jane Statton; and one brother, John Thorngren preceded her in death.
Ruth is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Bonnie Thorngren of Boone, Iowa; many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews and cousins in Sweden.
Her body has been cremated.
A memorial service was held on Friday afternoon, March 25th at 1:00 p.m. at the Evangelical Free Church in Boone, where Ruth was a lifetime member, with Chaplin Jeff McDowell officiating.
A private interment service will be held at Linwood Park Cemetery following the memorial service.
Those wishing to express their sympathies through a memorial may direct their gift to the Westhaven Community or the Evangelical Free Church both in Boone.
