Daily Press 8 June 2000 – Hampton – Emily Wilson Holloway, 100, died Friday, November 1, 2002, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Carole and Robert Smith. Born August 28, 1902, in King and Queen County, Mrs. Holloway moved to Newport News as a young girl and lived on the Peninsula most of her life. She was the widow of Joe C. Holloway.
Survivors in addition to her daughter include her son, Joseph C. Holloway, of Fern Park, FL; six grandchildren, Richard, Timothy, Keven, C. Douglas, Ruth Ann and Joseph; and six great-grandchildren. There will be a graveside service at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Parklawn Memorial Park, with the Rev. John H. Knibb Jr. officiating.
The family will be at the home of her daughter; Carole and friends may also pay their respects at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, downtown Hampton. If friends desire, memorial contributions may be sent to an international disaster-relief fund names The Alabaster Box Fund, c/o Christian Church Foundation, P.O. Box 1986, Indianapolis, IN 46206.
