Linda D. Thomas, 56, of Richmond, Virginia passed away on Friday, June 10, 2022 at Memorial Regional Medical Center.
Linda Thomas was born December 1, 1965 to the late Wilbur Thomas and Betty Reed in Albemarle County in Charlottesville, Virginia. She began her new journey on June 10, 2022.
In life all you have is your name. Beautiful was the meaning of Linda's name. It's very rare to meet a person whose spirit is as beautiful as their appearance. Linda was that exception. Her selflessness transcended for generations. She not only reared her children but was willing to help anyone in need. Including her grandchildren, her children's friends, or her siblings. It was no measure she wouldn't go to make everyone laugh.
Balance is very important. Linda may have been sweet as candy, but she didn't take any mess. She was little in stature, but big a heart. Her courage and her fight were giant. If you needed someone to have your back it was Linda. If she loved you, she refused to let you put up with mess. She was coming swinging. Her transition was befitting to her spirit because she never stopped swinging. She earned not only her wings, but her win.
Linda was such a light. Anytime you seen her she always greeted you with the biggest smile, and the craziest words. She was the life of the party. You were always going to get a laugh and good time when you went to see her. So much so people just went to get some of her good energy.
If you're able to find your person in this life you're lucky. Linda and Angelo's love was theirs. Through better or worse, sickness and health were vows they took seriously. No matter how rough times got, they were happy. The one certain thing is they had each other. They were a saving grace to one another. Nothing in life is perfect but for these past decades they were perfect for each other. That type of love is undying.
Linda's greatest joys were her children. She loved all of them how they needed to be loved for who they were. It was never a moment when she didn't let them know the amount of love she had for them. Whether it was through actions or words. Even in adulthood she was still there to act as a guide and voice of reason. Strong enough so that voice will continue to linger.
Linda leaves to remember her love her husband Angelo Johnson; her children, Travis, Phenisheia, Kiara, Brittany, Jermeka, and Amaria; 11 grandchildren; four brothers; six sisters; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. – Noon on Thursday, June 16 at Affinity Funeral Service 2720 Enterprise Parkway, Richmond, Virginia 23294. A funeral service will be held at Noon at the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
