On August 19, 1961 Cotton was united in marriage to Anna Lee (Kelley) Sutton who survives. To this union two children were born, Dale Sutton and wife Lacinda, and Diane Sutton and companion Brian Wooten, all of whom survive. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Amber Hartwig, Haley Bond, Sierra Moon, and Tyne Sutton; four great-grandchildren, Liam, Scarlett, Ava, Harper, and one on the way; a sister-in-law Marilyn Sutton, a brother-in-law Donald Martin, and many more loving family members and friends.
He is preceded in rest by his parents, two brothers, Howard Sutton and Vernon "Speedy Sr." Sutton and wife Sue, and three sisters, Rose Warncke and husband Bobby Joe, Virginia Mitchell, and Helen Martin.
As a young man Cotton served his country in the United States Army. After serving his country, Cotton worked for the Asarco Company for more than 30 years. He was also a member of the VFW Post in Annapolis when it was active, he was an avid fisherman, outdoorsman and hunter, loved camping, and loved his South Iron basketball teams.
Cotton will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation for Cotton was held on Sunday, April 10, 2022 from 05:00 PM to 08:00 PM at Cole Family Chapel. A Celebration of Life was held on Monday, April 11, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Cole Family Chapel.
Interment was held at Annapolis Cemetery with full military honors. Brother Joe Dean officiated the services.
