Our sweet wife, mother, daughter, aunt and friend Sherry Elaine Arnold left this world for her heavenly home on June 11, 2022. She had fought multiple health issues for several years, and took her last breath at home surrounded by her beloved family.

Sherry was born in Hayti, Missouri to Leroy and Maxine Thornton on Dec 9, 1961. She grew up in Tennessee and graduated from Gibson County High School. Shortly thereafter, she married Norman Arnold and they were married for 40 years. She had two children, Taylor and Kristin, to whom she devoted her life and took so much joy in being their mother. She was also the most wonderful Nana to her most precious grandson Judahlee.

Sherry loved Jesus and was known as a giving and caring soul. Several people have talked in the last months about how she would deliver groceries to them when they were in need, or assist them in paying a bill or helping clothe their children. She ministered to people who others didn't really want. She looked out for the lonely, the poor and those who were without. She loved children and had a tender way to teach and love them. She was always involved in her local churches, working with kids or in ministering to women. Her last major ministry was called Chic Frenzy, a ministry to women she established to provide a place for women to gather, grow, eat and have fun!

Sherry was also known for her beautiful singing voice. She was a southern gospel singing sensation as she sang along with her husband, sister and daughter traveled all around the South ministering in song. People loved to gather and listen to her sing!

She also loved to scrapbook. She made countless photo albums of her family and their adventures over the years. She also loved Walt Disney World! It was one of her most favorite place and riding rides made her so happy. She was able to spend her last Christmas at Disney World last December with her family and grandson. Sherry was one of the world's greatest cooks and also loved sweet treats. She always had a stash of candy. Always. Her nephews could always count on Aunt Sherry to have some candy for them no matter where they were!

Sherry is survived by: husband Norman, children Taylor and Kristin, grandson Judahlee; mother Mary Maxine Thornton, sister Myra Hill (Sam) and brother Kevin Thornton (Lysa); sister in law Ellen Thornton; family friend Tammie Kinney and a multitude of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father Leroy Thornton and brother Ron Thornton.

Visitation will be at Bill Merritt Funeral Home ( 6201 NW 39th Expressway) on Tuesday June 14 from 5-8pm. Funeral service will be at Bill Merritt Funeral Home ( 6201 NW 39th Expressway) Wednesday June 15 at 2pm. Graveside service will follow. The family also invites friends and family to a dinner on Wednesday evening for a time of remembrance and fellowship.
