Lucy Moore came into the world on a Sunday on April 16, 1944. Born in Booneville, MS, Lucy grew up in Memphis in the neighborhood of Hollywood. After graduating high school, she became a flight attendant for Delta and traveled the world. She swam off the shores of Jamaica and Hawaii, she skied the Swiss Alps, sipped espresso in Italy, and walked the brightly lit streets of New York City. She lived in Dallas, TX and then in Hayward, California. She returned to Memphis to have her first child, Lanie and then her youngest child, Kitty. Lucy worked for the Shelby County Sheriff's Office for 28 years and retired in 2016. Lucy traveled with her daughters to Paris, to Israel, to Clearwater and Key West, to Sedona, and multiple trips to New York. Everyone who met Lucy instantly felt gentleness and warmth radiating from her. Ask anyone and they will say, "She is the sweetest person I have ever known." She loved animals and cared for many dogs and cats over the years, most notably, her precious Thumper, her beloved Mercutio, and her special Sparkee. Lucy was a dancer and danced multiple times a week with various dance groups in Memphis. She was a shining example of generosity, kindness, and compassion. While she was always small in stature, her heart was large. She followed the path of Jesus, always helping others, loving others, and healing others. She was a member of Christ Church of Bartlett and of the Torah study at B'rit Hadasha.

Lucy was preceded in death by her parents Bryan and Era Anderson and her sister Sue Doyle. She is survived by her two daughters, Lanie Zipoy and Kitty Moore (Richard Lester), her step-son, Joey Moore, her sister, Jean Cain, and her best friend, Bobby Sanford, as well as a multitude of cousins, nieces and nephews, and step-grandchildren, all whom she loved dearly and completely.
