James C. Dobbs, Pioneer Resident,
Dies After Lingering Illness
Collingswood. N. J.. July 10. Collingswood lost another of its oldest citizens yesterday morning when James C. Dobbs, a resident of this section for nearly half a century, died at his home after a lingering- illness. Mr. Dobbs had been quite prominent in the business world for years, being connected with the manufacture of bricks with plants in Gloucester and Collingswood, the local plant still going to its full capacity. The funeral will be held on Friday afternoon, from his late residence, 20 Washington avenue, at two o'clock. Rev. Alfred Wagg, D. D., pastor of the First M. E. Church, will be In charge of the service, assisted by Rev. E. Ward Pickering of the First Baptist Church and Rev. Joseph M. Ashton. The deceased leaves a widow and seven grown up children: Samuel B. Dobbs, the Philadelphia brick merchant; Walter Dobbs, who was nearly killed in an automobile accident a few years ago In Gloucester, and Winfred and Harry Dobbs, Mrs. W. B. Woodrow. and Misses Laura and Rachael Dobbs. Mr. Dobbs was a Presbyterian.,belonging to some out of town church, but attended the Baptist Church here. He was 74 years of age. The burial will take place In the Haddonfield Baptist Church cemetery in charge of Funeral Director F. H. Foster.
