Joan "Joanie" McAuliffe Walsh Of Watertown and Island Falls, ME, passed away June 10, 2022. Beloved wife of the late Lt. Edward J. Walsh, Sr. (ret. WFD) Loving mother of one daughter and her husband (ret. WFD) and she was predeceased by her cherished sons Lt. Edward J. Walsh, Jr. (LODD Boston FD), Michael T. Walsh and is survived by Ed's wife. Loving "Grandma Joanie" to her 5 beautiful grandchildren. Joanie was predeceased by her brother John McAuliffe and her beloved parents Mac and Marie McAuliffe. Survived by a brother and his wife. Sister-in-law to five. She also leaves behind an extensive loving family.
Joanie went back to teaching after the birth of her son Michael and was fiercely dedicated to supporting her students. She worked for the Watertown Public Schools from the late 1970's until 2009 when she retired to take care of her grandson, Robert.
Funeral Mass: St. Patrick's Church, 212 Main St., Watertown.
Burial: St. Patrick's Cemetery.
