Stanley Howard Wright, 80 years old, passed away on Thursday, June 9th, 2022, at 9:30 AM.

Stan was born January 3rd, 1942, to Ada Leola Cowan and Howard Stimpson Wright

Stan incurred extreme encephalitis, due to a high fever at, or just after, birth, resulting in a life-long handicapping brain dysfunction.

Stan was born at Utah Valley Hospital, in Provo, Utah, not long before his siblings and mother moved to Southern California, where the father resided. The family returned to Provo when Stan was about age two, where he lived the remainder of his life.

Stan is survived by an older brother, Irvin Wright, and by a sister, Phyllis James, the eldest.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Ada Cowan, and his father, Howard Wright.

Due to this handicap, Stan spent his school years in special-education programs.
Though he was unable to complete high school, he attended a Trade Tech vocational school in Provo, Utah, while in secondary school, after which he worked a short-while at Geneva Steel Company in Orem, Utah, in the maintenance department; and eventually secured a career at Steve Whitlock's Collision (Auto Body), in Provo, Utah; where he was prized as a conscientious and faithful worker, and treated virtually as a member of the Whitlock family. Stan loved his work as a helper, which began in 1989, and lasted till his retirement at least 18 years later.

Stan's hobby was constructing model cars, resulting in an extensive collection of such. He was also a wanna-be cowboy, acquiring a collection of western clothing and movies.

Graveside Services will be Wednesday, June 15th, at noon, at Eastlawn Memorial Hills Cemetery, 4800 North 650 East, Provo, Utah. Interment will follow there, shortly after services.
