Michael "Mike" Johnson, 68, of Greene, passed away Friday, June 10, 2022 at the Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City.

A private family graveside service will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Floyd.

Michael Eugene Johnson, the son of Clayton and LaVonne (Hoel) Johnson, was born on March 8, 1954 in Charles City. He received his education in Charles City, graduating in 1972. In high school, he played varsity football and wrestling. On June 28, 1974, Mike was united in marriage to Connie Coyle in Charles City.

After graduation, Mike worked at the Oliver until their closing. He then worked 20 years in road construction for PCI until his retirement. In his younger days, Mike loved hunting and fishing with his grandfather. Mike loved training horses and traveled around the Midwest to train. He also enjoyed gambling on horses and liked going to casinos.

Living family members include two sons, two grandchildren, father, four siblings, along with many nieces, nephews, and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his wife Connie; mother, LaVonne; and brother, Dennis.
