Kevin Shawn 'KD" Davis Sr., age 58, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, February 2, 2022. Kevin was born June 20, 1963 in Indianapolis, Indiana and was preceded in death by both parents; the late Roy Davis Sr. and Hattie Annetta (Boards) Davis. He was a baptized at an early age and joined New Baptist Church. As a younger adolescent, Kevin was a very bright young man with an entrepreneurial spirit. He was very active in High School sports including basketball and football. As an adult, Kevin worked for the city of Indianapolis for many years before retiring due to an on-the-job accident. While employed, he enjoyed establishing friendships while filling an important role in providing for vital community service. KD enjoyed being in the company (often the spotlight) with his friends he enjoyed listening to smooth R&B and Jazz music; often DJing for various get togethers. He was a hard worker, enjoyed life, laughter, good times with friends, and working on his cars. Kevin would live his life according to what brought him comfort up until the time of passing. Kevin would face several personal health challenges, however, he never shied away from making the world he lived one full of light heartening laughter.
KD leaves to cherish his memory his children, Kevin Davis Jr, Shamyla Payton, Tasha Payton, Kris Payton, and Alex Payton; adopted children, Jermaine Payton, Kevin Payton, Keith Payton, and Andre Payton; grandchildren; sisters, Tara Davis and April Johnson (Andrew); brothers, Roy Davis and Donald Wayne Hazelwood (Jahnna); aunts, Evelyn Penick, Joyce Tann, and Patsy Pillow; uncle, James "BB" Davis; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.
Visitation for Kevin Davis Sr. will be held Saturday, February 26, 2022, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Crown Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, Indiana 46208, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM.
Kevin will be laid to rest in Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis, Indiana.
