Debby Lynne (Merket) Green, 59, passed away on 12-29-21 at her home in, Dill City, OK, after a 26 month battle with Stage IV Small Cell Lung Cancer. She was surrounded by her family.

Born in Standford, TX, she was the daughter of Jack and Laverne Merket. She graduated from El Dorado High School in 1980. She then attended and graduated from Cosmetology school in Altus, OK. She worked in banking and in administration at Bronco Oilfield Services. Debby served on City Council for 5 years and as Mayor for 3 years for the town of Dill City, OK.

Debby is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Betsy Mitchell.

Debby and Larry met on a blind date and it was love at first sight. They were soon married and lived a wonderful life together for 37 years.

Debby never met a stranger or stray animal. Whenever animals would show up at her house, they had a home for life. She loved her family, fishing, and camping at the lake, but her passion was barrel racing. She was introduced to it at an early age. She competed as late as Thanksgiving 2021 even though she needed help getting on and off her horse. She was still ready to go. She received many awards but none could match the thrill she had for riding her horse.
