OBITUARY
General C. Roop, died Saturday night at his home on Clinton Pike at the age of 70 years. Mr. Roop was the last surviving member of his father's family. The family was well known in this section many years ago.

The deceased married Miss Eliza Cooper in 1870. Mr. Roop's, four daughters and five sons survive him. The daughters are, Mesdames E.D. Marshall, Knoxville, James Altum, Heiskell, Thomas Kelley, Byington, and Lewis Pilkay, Powell. The sons are, Samuel Roop, Oklahoma, William Roop, Powell, G.W. Roop, Heiskell, R.V. Roop, Powell and J.A. Roop, Knoxville, also 35 grandchildren.

The deceased was a member of the Methodist church at Bell's Campground. the funeral was conducted at 10 o'clock Monday morning at King's cemetery.
